Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children

imgres-3.jpg

Wow, this is one creepy movie. Well, its Tim Burton, so thats kinda normal for him. Its about a boy, Jacob. Whose grandpa used to tell him stories about Miss Peregrine and her peculiar children. When his grandpa was brutally murdered, by things not human. He goes to a place described and mentioned in his stories. Where he finds Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children. Meets all of his friends from 1943. This movie gets 4 stars, because it seems like a children’s movie, but its not. I want to read the book though!

The Worst Cooks in America

Has anyone ever told you that you the worst cook? Well, they were most likely over exaggerating. But if anyone ever tells you that again, tell them to watch Worst Cooks in America. Then they will definitely appreciate you cooking more. Now, back to the review. This show is about 2 famous chefs that teach extremely bad cooks how to cook. They go through 8 weeks of culinary boot camp. If you are in a bad mood you should watch this because its whimsical, and enjoyable. I give this show 4 stars because I think every season it can get a little dull at times, but then they start again.

The Giver

imgres-1Here’s a famous cover, The Giver. I was recently assigned to read this for school and just finished it. It was great! I’ve been a fan of the movie for years now, but the book is great too! Now, ultimately I prefer the movie, its more my style, intense. The book is AMAZING though. Five star worthy. The book is about a boy named Jonas, he lives in a “utopia” Notice the quotation marks, there important. So in this “utopia” there are pros and cons, like just about everywhere. For example here are some pros: theres no crime, no discrimination and no one is poor. Some cons are: no animals, no feelings, no freedom of choice, and no color. Yes, no color. Thats why I put utopia in quotation marks, because in reality its a dystopia, or a utopia gone wrong. Jonas becomes a receiver of memory which means that he recieves all of the memories of times like ours, war, poverty, and much more. As I mentioned before this book deserves five stars.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding

imageSince My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 came out today, I decided to write a review about the original film. My Big Fat Greek Wedding, the highest grossing Rom-Com of all time, is about a woman trying to get married to a non-Greek man and how her huge Greek family intervenes.

Nina Vardalos is the writer and actress who plays Toula in this classic film. The movie is hilarious. It is full of annoying family members, Windex, and caricatures of Greek guys. What more could you ask for? XD

This movie is hysterical! It is packed with things that you didn’t see coming, stereotypical gigantic Greek families, and much more. I would recommend this book to anyone in fifth grade and up (with the exception of one scene where I closed my eyes).

My Big Fat Greek Wedding gets a five star rating.

Gravity Falls

image.jpegGravity Falls was a Disney cartoon about the Pines twins who are sent to live with their Grunkle Stan for the summer in the mysterious town of Gravity Falls. They uncover the secrets of the town while making great friends and powerful enemies. The show also had lots of very funny jokes and references. The creator, Alex Hirsch, hid codes throughout the series for fans to find. There were Gravity Falls theories everywhere! The last amazing episode was in February, and some of the theories proved to be true.

I love this series  for its humor, characters, and plot. There were very funny jokes and, yes, funny products in the show, such as Chipackers, The Chip Flavored Crackers. All the characters had their own personality from Soos to Wendy to Toby Determined. There were many plot twists and codes to help predict the plot twists throughout the series. Alex Hirsch and his crew thought it out very carefully, and if you look it up, they have many funny stories to tell. I give Gravity Falls a five star rating. I have nothing bad to say.

Friends

That is Phoebe Buffay from the TV show Friends. She has to be one of the dumbest characters. Friends is a 90’s sit-com about six friends and their crazy lives. I would personally rate this TV show PG-13, although it is actually rated TV-14. I absolutely loved this 10 season show. A bit long but you miss it once you are done. I would recommend this to anyone over 13 years of age. I give this a five star rating!

Girl Meets World

imageGirl Meets World is the second generation of Boy Meets World, where Riley and her friends Maya, Farkle, and Lucas face the challenges of middle school while having Riley’s dad as their teacher. Riley’s screen mother and father started in the past Disney show, Boy Meets World.

Ever since Disney Channel started adding morals to each episode, I have stopped watching them. The morals make it too sappy, and they usually overreact. All Girl Meets World really is are morals. And are we really supposed to believe that the lessons Mr. Matthews is teaching always correspond to the life lesson they just happen to learn in that episode? It is annoying! Honestly, I do not like Girl Meets World at all. So I will give it one star. Fix your shows, Disney Channel. Fix your shows.
